Volunteering with the RARFA
Volunteering with the Rough And Ready Fire Association is a fun way to support our fire station and get involved in the community. We rely on the many talents of our members and volunteers to facilitate our events and organize our fundraising.
Where/when: 14506 Rough and Ready Hwy., 5-7 P.M.
Come join us at the firehouse for delicious spaghetti and socializing. This is our monthly fundraiser held on the third Thursday of every month, and features homemade spaghetti sauce made from locally raised beef. We welcome volunteers to help set up, serve, and break down. If you are interested in lending a hand, you can show up early, around 4:30, to set up tables and chairs. If you would like to serve food at the counter, you may arrive a few minutes before 5 P.M. to get oriented. Breakdown begins around 7 P.M. and consists of breaking down tables and chairs.

Volunteer at the Baked Potato Booth with the RARFA in 2025!
Our fundraising efforts are only possible with the involvement of our community members. The Baked Potato Booth at the Nevada County Fair is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and we need 100 people to run the booth over five days. Join us for a shift (or two) and help support the Rough and Ready fire station! We start volunteer sign-ups in June of each year. Check back here next summer for our online sign-ups.
